Generate more excitement and exposure for your dessert by going “Live” on Facebook, Instagram or other social media outlets every few weeks to engage your supporters and the public, and to show the steps from recipe to decadent masterpiece!
Consider utilizing a facts sheet on your social media page to generate the need to raise the monies for Friend Inc. For an example:
- During this past year, over 300,000 pounds of food was placed on the kitchen tables of families we serve.
- Nearly 600 individuals (and their pets) reduce their food insecurity each month by shopping our Friend Inc. self-select Pantry.
- Around 400 students visit our Kutztown University Food Pantry each month.
- Each year, over 550 individuals are impacted through direct and referral support for things such as utilities, housing, SNAP and medical assistance.
By providing statistics, this will help generate and present the real need and importance for raising funds. Also, to note – this could be turned into a very, simple trivia game on social media. Post the trivia question and let your followers engage with your page to draw more attention by guessing the correct answer. You can provide the answer after 24 hours.
Offer a gift certificate to your business for the highest donation / sponsorship you receive. Or, enter all of those who show their support into a raffle and randomly select a name to win a 10% off coupon.
Initialize a countdown on social media to the 34th Annual Benefit Auction in April to promote the event and increase visibility to collect donations.
Consider creating a simple, short video showing the steps you followed in choosing a recipe, gathering ingredients, and making the dessert. You can also add music or special effects to draw in the attention of the viewer.
Offer publicity of donors and their businesses on your social media sites in order to thank them for their generosity.
